We\u2019ve all found images online that we wanted to pull into Design Space but the \u201csave image as\u201d option isn\u2019t always available. In this tutorial I\u2019ll show how how you can take any image from anywhere online and upload it into Cricut Design Space. This simple way to upload images into Design Space works with both a Windows PC and a Mac. The steps are just a little different for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to upload Images\ninto Design Space with a Windows PC<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you have a PC with Windows then you have a \u201cSnipping Tool\u201d.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t something everyone knows about but\nit\u2019s there and it\u2019s AMAZING! You can use the Snipping Tool to take a full\nscreen shot of whatever is on your screen your you can draw a box around only\nthe part of the screen you want to save as an image.\u00a0 Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step One<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Head down to the bottom left of your screen and type \u201cSnipping\nTool\u201d into the search box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Two<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Open the \u201cSnipping Tool\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Three<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Select \u201cNew\u201d and your cursor will turn into a crosshair.\u00a0 Use the crosshair to draw a box around whatever you want to save as an image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Four<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Once you have your image outlined click \u201cFile\u201d and then\nclick \u201cSave As\u201d.\u00a0 Name your image and\nsave it to your desktop or anywhere you will be able to find it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to upload images into Design Space with a Mac<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you have a Mac then you don\u2019t have the Snipping Tool but\nyou have something just as good.\u00a0 You\nhave the \u201cGrab\u201d feature. The \u201cGrab\u201d feature works just the same as the Snipping\nTool.\u00a0 You can save a full screen or just\na selection. Here\u2019s how it works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step One<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Go to the \u201cFinder\u201d then \u201cApplications\u201d and then \u201cUtilities\u201d\n(or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Two<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Click on the \u201cGrab\u201d feature. Once it opens, select \u201cCapture\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Three<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the menu select \u201cSelection\u201d. From here you\u2019ll be able\nto draw a square around what you want to save as an image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Four<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Once you have your image outlined click the little red\ncircle at the top and save your image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A word of caution\nBEFORE you upload images into Design Space<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Just because you CAN upload any image you find online into\nCricut Design Space doesn\u2019t mean you SHOULD! About 90% of the images you find\nonline will be protected by copyright or trademark laws. This means you can get\ninto big trouble if you\u2019re using them for monetary gain. If you find a clip art\nimage or SVG that you just simply love and want to use it in a project you plan\non selling\u2026just go buy the image. Someone worked hard to create it and it\u2019s\nreally not fair (or legal) for you to use it for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With that being said, there are still tons of things you can legally and ethically use the Snipping Tool or Grab feature for. One of the most popular reasons for this is if you create something in a program like Word or your Notepad and need to transfer it into Design Space.
