When I first started with my Cricut I purchased a lot of SVG\u2019s because I didn\u2019t know how to make my own designs. I spent a ton of money doing that and most of the time the SVG\u2019s weren\u2019t exactly what I wanted so it was very frustrating.\u00a0 In this tutorial I\u2019ll show you how to make your own designs in Cricut Design space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like I mentioned before, I used to pay anywhere from $2.00 to $5.00 for a SVG that I kind of liked but wasn\u2019t really in love with because I didn\u2019t know how to make my own designs. Now I have a subscription to Creative Fabrica<\/a> and I get access to 15k+ SVG\u2019s and I can download as many as I want FOR FREE. Not only are they free but they include a commercial license so I can legally sell whatever I make with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this tutorial I\u2019m making a \u201cWelcome Fall\u201d sign and I\u2019m using 1 SVG and a couple fonts I got from Creative Fabrica<\/a>.\u00a0 Let\u2019s get started and I\u2019ll show you how to make your own designs in Cricut Design Space. (You can get all the fonts for free too\u2026woo-hoo!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Main Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pick your main design element. For This project I used a\npumpkin. I found this set of Fall SVG\u2019s and downloaded all of them but I only\nneeded the pumpkin for my project.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pumpkin needed just a bit of editing for what I wanted\nto make so I put a circle in the middle and welded the circle to the pumpkin to\nmake the center solid. Since the word \u201cFALL\u201d has 4 letters, I duplicated the\npumpkin 4 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now it\u2019s time to put the letters inside the pumpkins. I\nchose the font \u201cChristmas Story\u201d from Creative Fabrica for my letters.\u00a0 I sized the \u201cF\u201d in the middle of the pumpkin and\nthen made each of the other letters the same size.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I had all the letters placed where I wanted them I \u201cSliced\u201d\neach letter out of each pumpkin. (Check out the video tutorial below to see how\nI sliced the letters.)\u00a0 I found some fun\nfall colors and made each pumpkin a different color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding some words<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re well on your way to making your own designs in Cricut Design Space. Now it\u2019s time for the \u201cWelcome\u201d at the top.\u00a0 I went over to Creative Fabrica<\/a> and used the free font manager (This is totally free. No subscription needed.) to pick the font I wanted for my \u201cwelcome\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used the PUA (private use area) to add some extra flare to\nmy word.\u00a0 Unlocking the PUA for all my\nfonts is another reason I really love Fontcloud.\u00a0 I can quickly see all the extra ligatures and\nswashes each font has and I can easily try them out to see what will work best\nfor my project. (The video tutorial below shows how this all works.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
