What is Slice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Slice in Cricut Design Space is used to cut out shapes. Think of it kind of like a cookie cutter. If you have a large rectangle of cookie dough and you want to cut out several circles you\u2019d use a round cookie cutter. The same technique is used for slice in Cricut Design Space. You would first put in your large rectangle using the shape tool and then slice out each individual circle using the slice tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When to Slice <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step One:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to the text tool in the left menu bar and enter some text. If you are using a script font make sure your word is all welded together. Print fonts will work without welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Two:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to the shapes tool in the left menu bar and insert a circle into your project. Resize the circle so that it is larger than your text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Three:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Place the text on top of the circle (you may need to use the arrange tool to move your text to the top of the circle so you can see it). Once your text is on top of the circle where you want it drag a box around both the text and the circle and then hit \u201cSlice\u201d in the bottom right menu bar. This will slice your text out of your circle. Click on the parts you don\u2019t need and delete them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
