Design Space Updates | How to change colors in Cricut Design Space and how to switch from cut to print in Cricut Design Space

Cricut Design Space has had some recent updates in 2019. They have moved some things around so today I want to show you a quick tutorial on the updates. We’ll cover how to change colors in Cricut Design Space and how to switch from cut to print in Cricut Design Space. In the video at the end I will also talk a little about patterns and when to use the flatten tool.

How to change text and image colors in Cricut Design Space

Previously when you wanted to change the color of your text or image in Cricut Design Space you would go to the right menu bar and select the circle you wanted to change. Well, this is no more. Cricut has moved this feature to the top menu bar. Now you will use the little color box next to “line type” in the top menu bar to change the color of your text and images. See the photo below.

They have also moved around the cut and print icons. These are now located in the top menu bar as well. To change from a cut to a print simply highlight the item you’d like to change then click “fill” and switch from “no fill” to “print”. This is also where you’ll change the color or pattern of your print item. To go back to a cut item select “fill” and switch from “print” to “no fill”. See photo above.

Everything else has pretty much remained the same as far as placement and functionality. Your slice, weld, attach, flatten and contour icons are all still at the bottom of the right menu bar. Check out the quick 5 minute video below to see how it all works.
