1. Why Pre-Made Designs are a Game-Changer
Starting with a blank canvas can feel daunting, especially if you’re new to design. Pre-made designs are like having a design coach by your side, offering structure and inspiration right from the start. Here’s why they’re perfect for beginners:
- They save time.
- They offer professional-quality designs.
- They’re fully customizable, so you can make them your own.
Think of pre-made designs as your creative springboard—every click takes you closer to something uniquely you!
2. How to Get Started in Canva
- Log in and create a new design:
- You can choose from a design type already offered on Canva, Instagram Post, Standard letter and so forth, or you can create your own custom size. I like to use 3,000 X 3,000 px for my digital designs.
- Upload your pre-made design:
- There are several templates and pre-made designs already in Canva, however, I like to get my designs from Creative Fabrica. I have an all access membership which allows me to download anything I want for free. Click Here to see how to sign up for your own all access membership!
3. Edit Your Pre-Made Design
- Remove Text: You can use the crop feature to crop out text from a pre-made design. If you have a Canva Pro account, you can use the magic eraser or magic grab tool to erase text that goes over your design.
- Add Text: Add in your own text or just update to a different font.
- Add Elements: Add some Canva elements or get other design elements from Creative Fabrica to really upscale your design.
4. Pro Tips for a Polished Look
- Use the alignment guides to keep things tidy.
- Stick to 2-3 fonts for a cohesive feel.
- Experiment, but remember—less is often more!
