DIY Gnome Gift Tags

Since gnomes are totally in right now who could resist these adorable DIY Gnome Gift Tags. This tutorial will show you how to assemble the gift tags and it also includes a free printable template to cut them out.

DIY Gnome Gift Tags

This post contains affiliate links. This just means if you purchase something by clicking one of my links I may receive a small commission at no cost to you.

Here’s what you need for the Gnome Gift Tags:

  • Gnome template PDF (yay it’s FREE) or Gnome Tag SVG
  • Cardstock and or patterned paper
  • Glue Stick
  • Foam Sticky Dots
  • String
  • Scissors (or other cutting device like an Exacto knife or Cricut)

Here’s what you’ll do to make the Gnome Gift Tags:

Step 1:

Cut out all 6 pieces on your desired color of cardstock or paper.  I used White for the base, grey for the body, white for the beard, peach for the nose and different patterned paper for the hats.

Step 2:

Use the glue stick to glue the body onto the base. Next glue the beard onto the body and then the hat onto the base at the top. Now would be a good time to write the “To and From” on the back of your tags if you want to do that.

Step 3:

Now it’s time for the adhesive foam dots.  Make sure you get either the small ones or a multipack that has small ones in it.  Attach a small foam dot to the back of the nose, peel the tape off and then apply to your gnome.  Attach a small dot to the back of the poof for the hat, peel the tape off and then apply to the hat.

Step 4:

Cut some string at whatever length you think you want.  Double the string over and then put the folded end through the holes at the top of your gnome.  Tie a knot in the string and that’s it.  You’re all done with your DIY Gnome Gift Tags.
