Are you having issues trying to slice in Design Space? There could be a few different reasons for that but it’s usually because you’re trying to slice too many things at the same time. This quick tutorial will show you how to slice in Design Space no matter how many layers you want to slice.

So, as I mentioned above, Design Space will only let you slice 2 layers at a time. This may seem limiting however there is always a work around. What is that work around you may ask? Well…it’s weld. Yep, that’s all there is to it. You simply weld together everything you want to slice out so that it all becomes 1 layer. Now you can slice as you normally would.
What if I want the sliced parts to be different colors? Won’t welding them make them all the same color? Well yes, it will. But there’s an easy fix for that too. That fix is Duplicating. Just duplicate your original items you want sliced out and then weld them together. You’ll slice the duplicated welded part out leaving your original design in tack.
