There are actually several ways to curve text in Inkscape but if you want to know the easy way to curve text in Inkscape you’ve come to the right place. I can show you how to curve text in Inkscape in just a few minutes.

Most people who teach how to do this will show you how to draw a circle and then put your text on the circle. From there you edit the circle to change the curve of the text. I really don’t like doing it that way because you cannot control the text itself. You only have control over the circle. In my method I’ll show you how to curve the text in a way you can manipulate each letter in your text. This way you can curve your text around any shape you want. Not just a circle.
Basic Steps
The video above will show you exactly how but here are the basic steps:
- Write your text
- Turn your text to a path
- Open path effects
- Select the “bend” effect
- Click the nodes tool in the bend menu
- Drag the line and nodes in any shape you want
Now I know what you’re thinking. That’s a lot of steps and you said this was the easy way. I promise it really is easy. Steps 2-5 take all of 5 seconds to complete and then you’re ready to bend and curve and wave your text in any shape you want it. Make sure to watch the video to see how it’s all done and you’ll be able to curve text in Inkscape in no time flat.
