How to Turn a Digital Design Into a Physical Product

If you’ve ever created a digital design and thought…“Could I actually turn this into a real product?” the answer is YES.

png to product

In this tutorial, I’m walking you through the full process of taking a digital file and turning it into a finished tshirt using a DTF transfer and a heat press.

This is perfect if you:

• Sell PNGs or digital designs
• Are curious about making your own physical products
• Want more control over your final product
• Are exploring alternatives to print-on-demand

Watch the full tutorial below to follow along step-by-step.

Step 1: Create Your Design in Canva

We start by creating a simple Mother’s Day design in Canva.

In the video, I show you how to:

• Build a clean, trendy design
• Choose fonts and layout
• Prepare your file for printing

This is your starting point. The digital file that will eventually become your physical product.

Step 2: Turn Your Design Into a DTF Transfer

Next, I talk about how to take your digital design and have it printed as a DTF (Direct to Film) transfer.

This allows you to:

• Print full color designs
• Get professional quality transfers
• Apply them easily to apparel

Once your transfer arrives, you’re ready for the fun part.

Step 3: Overview of the HTVRONT Auto Heat Press 2

Before pressing, I give a quick overview of the heat press I’m using.

The HTVRONT Auto Heat Press 2 is:

• Easy to use (great for beginners)
• Automatic (no guesswork on pressure)
• Consistent with heat and timing

This makes it a great option if you’re just getting started with making your own products.

Step 4: Pressing the Design Onto the Shirt

Now we bring everything together.

In this step, I show you how to:

• Position your transfer on the shirt
• Use the heat press correctly
• Apply the design with proper heat and timing

This is where your digital design becomes something real.

Step 5: The Final Reveal

Finally…the best part

We peel the transfer and reveal the finished shirt.

This is the moment where you see your design come to life as a physical product you can actually hold.

Why This Matters

If you’re currently selling digital designs or using print on demand, learning how to create your own physical products can:

• Give you more control over quality
• Increase your profit margins
• Open up new product opportunities
• Help you stand out in your niche

Final Thoughts

Turning your digital designs into physical products might seem intimidating but it’s actually much simpler than you think.

Once you understand the process, you can start creating:

• T shirts
• Sweatshirts
• Tote bags
• And more

All from designs you’re already making.
