How to Turn AI Clipart Into a Finished Design in Kittl

Creating AI clipart is exciting, but the real magic happens when you turn that clipart into a finished design.

Use AI clipart to create a finished design

In this tutorial, I’m showing you how to take the AI generated clipart we created in the first video of this series and transform it into complete, polished designs using Kittl.

We’ll create two completely different styles of designs to show how versatile your clipart can be.

Watch the full tutorial below to follow along step by step.

Design 1: Simple & Trendy

We start with a more beginner friendly design using:

• Basic wording
• A checkered background
• AI clipart
• Text effects inside Kittl

In this section of the tutorial, I also show how to use text features like:

• Shadow
• Transformation
• Decoration

These small effects can instantly make your text feel more dynamic and trendy.

Design 2: Taking It to the Next Level

Next, we create a more advanced layered design.

This is where we really start pushing the creative possibilities inside Kittl.

Step 1: Create a Seamless Pattern

First, I use the AI generated clipart to build a seamless pattern.

This allows you to:

• Create a more custom background
• Add depth and texture
• Make your design feel more unique

Step 2: Create a Striped Background

Next, I use rectangle shapes to build a striped layout.

This adds another trendy layer to the design and creates visual movement in the background.

Step 3: Turn the Background Into a Mask

Now we combine everything together.

In this step, I show you how to:

• Turn the striped background into a mask
• Fill it with the seamless pattern we created
• Blend multiple design elements together

This technique creates a much more polished and professional look.

Step 4: Add Text Effects

Once the background is finished, we build out the typography.

In this section, I demonstrate how to:

• Add text
• Apply shadows and outlines
• Layer typography over the design

These effects help your wording stand out while tying the entire design together.

Step 5: Add Hand Drawn Highlights

Finally, I use the pen tool to draw highlights directly onto the text.

This gives the design:

• More personality
• A hand crafted look
• Extra detail and dimension

These small finishing touches can completely elevate your final design.

Why This Matters

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is stopping at the clipart stage.

The real goal is learning how to:

• Build layered designs
• Combine patterns and typography
• Create something that feels unique

That’s where your designs really start standing out.

Final Thoughts

Once you understand how to build around your clipart, your design possibilities become endless.

You can experiment with:

• Different patterns
• Layered backgrounds
• Typography styles
• Trendy textures and effects

And most importantly, you’re creating designs that feel like you.
